Still Life with Kabocha

I just learned that kabocha is the generic Japanese word for squash. Here in the States it's labeled Kabocha Squash... so basically translated means "squash squash". I thought that was funny for some reason. Hope you're all well!

Welcome to my painting blog. This is a record of paintings that I started in January of 2006. Most of these pictures are small intimate paintings of everyday subject matter ranging from a single orange to a simple landscape; favoring simplicity over complexity in composition. I paint mostly from life and am quite interested in how light affects different subjects.
